Hemp extract is one of the most demanded products in relation to the cannabis plant. But unlike others, you don’t need your cannabis paraphernalia to consume it, as it has an oily format. This has also led to a lot of confusion between hemp extract and hemp seed oil.
Contents
Hemp extract consists of a concentration of all the components that make up the leaves, flowers and stems of the hemp plant.
This concentration has excellent properties and has been shown to offer multiple benefits for those who take advantage of it.
Now, hemp seed oil differs because it does not contain CBD or medicinal properties. In fact, it is extracted from the seed and not from the rest of the parts of the plant.
Hemp extract has many uses, including some related to the appearance of the skin, which is why it is associated with personal cosmetics.
It also serves to relieve pain and other symptoms of various diseases, as well as can help cope with psychological or emotional problems.
Hemp extract has very useful components that give it a wide variety of properties. For example, it has cannabinoids, plant sterols, terpenes, fatty acids, flavonoids, vitamins and essential nutrients.
In addition, it is also possible to refine hemp extract and achieve a specific concentration of certain components of the plant.
In this regard it is important to differentiate “full spectrum” hemp extract and “broad spectrum” hemp extract.
The “full spectrum” hemp extract is one that includes all the compounds of the plant such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). However, as most hemp extract is obtained from industrial hemp low in THC, the latter compound is present at levels below 3%.
“Broad-spectrum” hemp extract either completely dispenses with THC or is extracted from special THC cannabis strains. Normally, it is obtained in two phases. The first is to extract the “full spectrum”, to remove the THC from it. An alternative is to take CBD isolate and then add other phytocomponents, less logically THC.
The popularity of hemp extract is due to the many benefits it offers. Listed below are some of the most important ones:
