Butane Hash Oil (BHO) is a type of cannabis concentrate produced through solvent extraction. It is vital to analyse the quality of the BHO through the cannabis used to create the concentrate. The purity and the flower used are what make the different between a high quality and poor quality product.

What is BHO?

BHO, as we have stated above, is a type of cannabis concentrate. To produce it, the resin and cannabinoids need to be extracted from the marijuana through a sealed tube with a small mesh that filters out the hydrocarbons from the cannabinoids and terpenes to separate them from the vegetable matter of the marijuana. 

This process requires room temperature gas to be used which, once evaporated, leaves just the resin behind. The quality of the BHO must also be assessed, in case it is of a poor quality which could affect or even endanger consumers. In this regard, it is essential that the BHO does not contain any gas or pesticide residue and that the extraction process has been correctly and professionally conducted. 

How do you consume BHO?

BHO is a very versatile substance, as it can be consumed in a variety of different ways. 

• Dabbing: this is one of the best ways to enjoy BHO and involves inhaling the concentrate through vaporising the concentrate. To do this, you need to have a dab rig, with a nectar collector or pipe.
• Vape: you just have to choose a vape (pen shape) that is compatible with these concentrates. Fill it up with your BHO and enjoy.
• Blunts and joints: BHO can also be enjoyed more traditionally in a blunt or joint and mixed with smoking tobacco.
