Nach dem Joint schlecht drauf? Diese Tipps helfen dir!

Guides

Prevention is better than cure, which is why we are going to give you some tips about what to do when feeling bad after smoking a joint. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!

Before starting, it is important to consider several factors:

  • A joint can make you feel bad based on your physique, your health, and your tolerance. Your experience won’t necessarily be the same as others – and vice versa! Just because others feel fine doesn’t mean you will.
  • You also need to think about how much you have consumed and how pure the cannabis is.
  • We are just giving you some “tips to take action”, it is not medical advice. In fact, as you’ll see below, there are some circumstances in which it is best to seek out medical support.

What is greening out?

Let’s start with the name. A bad weed trip is called greening out or pulling a whitey. The names are due to the common symptom of a drop in blood pressure and consequential dizziness and/or loss of color.

Greening out is a negative side effect of smoking this substance and can affect different people in different ways.

Symptoms from greening out

Each person may experience different symptoms when feeling bad after a joint. These are the most common:

  • Dizziness: this is the most common and it can cause you to lose your balance and slow down your movements.
  • Anxiety or even paranoia: this is another side effect of cannabis, especially suffered by those who smoke in excess.
  • Sweating and chills: this is caused by your temperature increasing and your body attempting to regulate this through transpiration.
  • Confusion: as you do not know what is happening or how to control it.
  • Loss of senses: especially in regard to hearing and sight.

What to do when feeling bad after a joint

We are experts when it comes to Smoking cones, Smoking papers and Smoking tips, however, the best advice you can get is from the doctors. So in the case of vomiting, increased heart rate, or any agitations, do not hesitate to seek out medical assistance.

If you only experience light symptoms, there are several things you can do to stop greening out.

Treatment

In terms of treatment, there are two options that we highly recommend:

Hydration, essential.

If you remain well hydrated you should stop greening out in no time. Of course, stay well hydrated with just water, nothing else.

Sweet or salty munchies

It is often said that the famous sweet “munchies” are a great way to stop you from greening out. However, there is no scientific or medical evidence to back this up.

The reality is, after feeling bad from a joint and the above symptoms have worn off, your body will need energy to recover hence why you will often feel really hungry.

Both sweet and salty munchies will help your recovery. But eat calmly, with small mouthfuls and stay hydrated, as we said.

Tips if you feel bad after a joint

Are you suffering from any of the symptoms listed above? These are just some of the practical tips to follow if you feel bad after a joint:

  • Firstly, stop smoking immediately.
  • Find a comfortable place to lie down and relax.
  • Try to stay outdoors or in a well-ventilated room, this will help you to stop greening out quicker.
  • Tell your buddies that you aren’t feeling too good. It is important to have help to hand to prevent you from falling or to call the emergency services, if needed.
  • Once you no longer feel dizzy, sit up and stay in that position for as long as possible. Do not get up too suddenly.
